A characteristic of the basement

15.56
A characteristic of the basement is that we destroy what we love by the demands that we place upon the object of our devotion.

Hotel Most Acceptable, Leipzig.

On the 4+ hour drive here we had good news, and bad news. The good news: our hotel is part of a Most Acceptable chain. The bad news arrived as we were just about to cross the Czech border into Germany. Laurie spoke to George Glossop, our sound mixer, who had just got into today's venue. It is another of the sonically challenged spaces which typify many German spaces. That makes 50% of our venues on this tour so acoustically atrocious that our performance is compromised.

How to get this point across to organisers? This band needs the opportunity to be who we are.

How to describe tonight? Awful sound. The power supply came with a loud buzz attached. Adrian has a mobile constitution, to express the position delicately, and just got offstage in time. He was heroic throughout an interesting time. And, once more, the customary violation.
